Overview

M87 × Red Bull Winter Vibes brought four acts, a gondola DJ booth, flame effects and around 600 guests to Spurs at Mt Buller. As Venue Manager, I led the venue-side delivery, coordinating our spaces, bars, staffing and service around the event’s creative and production requirements.

The challenge

The specific challenge was combining event delivery with an alpine environment. Deliveries, staffing and guest arrival all depended on remote mountain access and changing conditions, while the activation still had to work within the venue’s capacity, licensing requirements and service flow. My role was to build those constraints into the planning and keep the venue team aligned through delivery.

My responsibilities

  • 01Coordinated venue requirements with M87, brand representatives, resort management, mountain operations and production partners.
  • 02Worked through the activation footprint, staging, access, capacity and guest flow during planning and site visits.
  • 03Planned three bars and the après menu, alongside procurement and supplier deliveries in an alpine setting.
  • 04Organised venue staffing, rosters and briefings around the event schedule.
  • 05Acted as the venue-side point of contact and escalation point from bump-in through live delivery and bump-out.

My approach

I translated the event requirements into practical plans for the venue team: where service would happen, how guests would move through the space, what needed to arrive and when, and who was responsible on the day. Staying in contact with the wider event team helped me coordinate those plans as requirements changed, connecting the production requirements with the venue operations and guest experience.
